Torino Euromineralexpo 2007
This year the show has been held for the second time in a new hall of Congress Center Lingotto A nice location central to the town with and very confortable to reach. The Show started friday morning with exibithors setup and the first visitors arrived around noon . Saturday and Sunday was busy with severals visitors looking around and thinking how to spend their budget . The total number of visitors was extimated around 12000 . Anyway we have to remenber that the majority of this show is dedicated to bijoux , lapidary and various objects and about 1/3 to minerals. This is a general trend we see in the shows .
The Show was well organized and for the second year visitors can attend a program of various conferneces on paleontological and mineralogical subjects.

Among visitors also some foreign mainly french collectors and italians from every part of the country

The exposed minerals were mainly international specimens, aesthetic and of medium to good average quality. Some of the exibitors were specailized in aestetic but common specimenes suc as Calcites , Flourites , Gems minerals and so on. From China there wasn't news and from Morocco a dealer have some nice green scorodite crystals.
From Brasil a nice selection of Brasilianites from recent finds. From Africa and intersting find or Rutile from Congo and Hematite and rutel from Zambia
From Italy there was nothing really new but some interesting pieces from Alps and good selection of local Piedmont mnerals expecially from Traversella and Brosso mines
From Carrara a nice sulphurs and several good quartz on white marble.
Among other systematic minerals some nice alpine
damburrite from Val di Susa , and rarities from cervandone and Val Formazza like
cervandonites , Roggianite Vigezzite

Many special exibiths were presented. Turin Natural History Museum showed an exibition of Crystals Habits while some private collectors or Mineralogical groups organized little exhibiths on thematic subject such as Traversella mine , Brosso mine and other Piedmont areas.
The most impressive was the recent discovery from Elba like prase , hematite pyrite to which will be dedicated the next issue of Rivista mineralogica Italiana
An interesting exibith was the bibliography of famous Italian mineralogists with the associated specimens discovered like Monticelli , Covelli , Brugnatellli ..ando so on

From September 15, 2007 to Janury 6, 2008 is open in Turin an important Mineral exphosition called Mineralia with very interesting and important specimens organized by Natural Science Museum and in collaboration with the Turin University
